¿Sabes usar los comparativos en inglés?
Tengo un nuevo video hoy sobre expresiones como the bigger, the better.
Esta expresión se traduce como “Cuanto más grande, mejor.”
Y utiliza el adjetivo comparativo por los dos lados, después del artículo the.

Q: How big do you want your hamburger?
A: The bigger, the better.
Q: How much can you afford to spend?
A: Not much. The cheaper, the better.
Q: Do you like spicy food?
A: Of course! The spicier, the better.
Q: What time should we leave tomorrow?
A: The earlier the better.
Q: Do you like buying expensive clothes?
A: Yes, I do. the more expensive, the better.

Frases comparativas más complejas
Las otras frases de este estilo son algo más complicadas de formar, porque son más largas. Pero siempre se forman con the + comparativo por los dos lados.
The more you study, the more English you’ll learn.
The earlier you get up, the more you’ll be able to do during the day.
The slower we walk, the longer it will take us to get there.
The closer you listen, to more you’ll understand.
The further you go, the longer it will take to get back.
Estas frases se usan mucho en el inglés hablado. Y quizá, otro día, haga un video para explicar también las frases más complejas.
